Tanks for the memories

Yesterday I acquired a new 3D editing tool. While it's primary purpose is creating a unique type of artwork, it turned out to be quite useful for making 3D meshes in a flash. My other utilities can easily edit the meshes, and with Poser I turn them into props instantly.

So naturally I thought of using this program to make a picture involving everyone's favorite childhood building toy and every foot's biggest nightmare, LEGOs.

Now I had a huge cache of LEGO bricks back in the day. However, most of them were meant for specific models, so I couldn't make very many of most things. One of the times I was playing with my LEGOs while watching Tron I came up with a simple design that used 5 bricks. These "tanks" were built using basic pieces, and I had enough of these basic pieces to make multiple factions (using different colors) and multiple tanks per faction.

Thus, many a war was fought between these different factions. The one pictured above was the heroic "good guy" faction.
